Call Me Tennessee

Picture
The Story: Have you ever stopped and given change to a hobo? What kind of man would move a hobo to stop and give him change? Jeff Klitzner rose from the ashes of his troubled childhood, complete with insane mother, absent father, getting committed, and poker games with senior citizens, to beg, borrow, and steal his way across five continents, get kicked out of a foreign country, get thrown in jail, break hearts, qualify as a rabbi, and drink epic amounts of alcohol. And he’s lived to tell about it. So far. You better read this book, because I’m not sure if he’ll survive to write a sequel. If you lived this hard, you might not either. The most screwed up lives make for the best stories. Top this one.

Memphis Flyer's Leonard Gill pays his respect to Tennessee

In an excellent, heart-touching article, Leonard Gill talks about Jeff's death and life. I was moved by the gravitas and feeling Gill brought to the subject, despite never having actually met Jeff, only speaking to him on the phone. In it, he informs the reader about what some of his friends and Jeff himself had to say about death and life. Please read it here.

Jeff Klitzner, RIP

Well, Death caught up with one of them Langhorne boys in a serious way on Thursday, August 18th, 2011. Stephen Clements was honored to give the eulogy at the funeral service on Sunday. Stephen filled in at the book signing scheduled for Saturday, and the many who came to Starbucks for the event retold many memories of Jeff. He will be missed. He is survived by his mother Minda, his brother Philip, and untold numbers of love children scattered throughout the world.

Awesome book review of Call Me Tennessee in the Memphis Flyer

In the August 18th, 2011 edition of the Memphis Flyer, check out the excellent book review of Jeff Klitzner's Call Me Tennessee by reviewer Leonard Gill. When the proof-reader for Jeff's book read the review, she said it was so good that it made her want to read the book all over again.

Call Me Tennessee rocks Nashville!

In a great and exhilerating moment, Jeff Klitzner got on stage at the hot new club Jazz and Jokes in downtown Nashville and did not start a riot! The show on July 14th was Jeff's second appearance in his national tour to show off the seminal epic Call Me Tennessee. He talked about his early childhood in Memphis, TN and his time in prison, which all got some good laughs from the audience. Be sure to check out the club's excellent website at http://jazzandjokes.com/ for a great club.

Call Me Tennessee laid some shock and awe on Paris!

When the Call Me Tennessee national tour stopped in Paris, Tennessee on July 9th at Books and More, Jeff regaled the crowd about how you make a chicken coop out of grocery buggies. It was a life lesson we all need to learn, and accept. Thank you Paris for a ridiculous afterparty, where Jeff dominated all comers in a rousing game of Tinkerbell! Where will Jeff show up next? If you'd like to see Jeff in your city, contact us and let us know. (offer no longer valid)

Jeff jazzed it up on WUMR Smooth Jazz

Picture
Saturday 18th June, Jeff and Stephen crashed the party at 91.7 FM WUMR in Memphis! David Saks, who has known Jeff since he was a little kid, was amazed by the life story Jeff has racked up in his 30 years. Jeff and David talked about old times, David read an excerpt from Call Me Tennessee where he shows up and runs off with Jeff for a motorcycle ride, and Jeff told people how he explained manliness to Prince William. We had an awesome time, and presented David with a copy of Call Me Tennessee for being a good role model for Jeff and an important player in putting together the book. Oh, and there was some smooth jazz thrown in for a good time.

Dreams came true at Starbucks

On June 25th, 2011, Jeff and Stephen were at the Starbucks at Poplar and White Station in Memphis, TN to officially launch Call Me Tennesse and spend quality time with their legions of fans. It was hot out, but we witnessed one friend come back from the dead, sold some books, and told some great stories. The after party at the Windjammer karaoke bar was awesome, too, with Jeff tearing it up with Barry Manilow's "I write the songs" and Stephen taking everybody to the "Love Shack"!

Read this, because Jeff loves you and doesn't want you to die!

I was once lost in a world full of hate. Not hate for others, but hate for myself. I did everything possible to avoid the responsibility of living life. No matter what my addictions were, I found a way to feed them, causing pain to everyone who cared about me. Unfortunately, I wasted most of my life trying to hide from my fears, doing the things I would expect others to do if they only knew the truth. It took me years of wandering to find my salvation: the only way to confront my fears was to publish an accurate account of my life.
This led me to a different path in life, one that would not only overcome my fears, but also repair the damage I caused in the world. I became a life coach, to help others who are trapped in the prison of addiction. I don’t preach abstinence from vices, nor do I tell you right or wrong. Rather, I help you discover what’s causing your pain, and while my methods may not appeal to everyone, I do whatever it takes to help get you out of your cycle of despair. I looked in the mirror one day and saw the man I was, and that night I dreamt of the man I could be. That morning I vowed to become a better man by any means necessary. I do seminars, large and small groups, and I coach individuals to get rid of the fears and embrace the people they ought to be. Contact him anytime at (901) 634-2132 or at
